Playground safety surfacing

Wet pour and colour coated mulch surfaces that cushion falls, drain fast and keep their colour in the sun.

Play surfaces are judged by one number: the critical fall height they cushion. We install wet pour EPDM rubber and colour coated mulch systems laid to EN 1177 impact standards, with the depth of the shock layer specified to the height of your play equipment.

Wet pour is the surface you see under modern playgrounds: a rubber shock pad under a colourful EPDM wear course, seamless, porous and graphics ready. Alphabet snakes, hopscotch grids, road tracks and logos are cast into the surface, not painted on top of it.

Where budget is tighter or the fall height is low, colour coated mulch gives a natural look with real impact absorption. It costs less than wet pour and is tougher than bark, and it is popular for tree pits and informal play areas.

The work

What we install

  • Wet pour play surfaces, cast graphics, games and road tracks
  • Colour coated mulch for play areas and tree pits
  • Splash pad surrounds in drain fast, barefoot friendly finishes
  • School yards and shaded indoor play floors
  • Gym floors and sport surfacing
  • Impact layer depths specified to your equipment's fall heights

The Gulf specifics

Built for the heat

Rubber surfaces hold heat, so colour choice matters. Light colours and UV stable pigments keep barefoot areas usable through a Dubai summer. Both systems are fully porous, so splash areas drain fast and daily irrigation runs straight through instead of sitting on top.

Good to know

Questions we get asked.

How deep does the surface need to be?

It depends on the critical fall height of your equipment. A 900 mm fall needs less depth than a 3 m climbing frame. We measure and specify at the survey, then lay to that depth.

Wet pour or mulch?

Wet pour for a finished look, graphics and low maintenance. Mulch where fall heights are low and budget matters. Both are permeable and both meet EN 1177 when specified correctly.

Can you add games and graphics?

Yes. Games, letters, numbers, road tracks and logos are cut and cast into the wet pour wear course during installation, so they do not peel or fade like paint.
